Egypt

Egypt is a country in northeast Africa. Its capital city is Cairo. Egypt is famous for its ancient monuments, such as the Pyramids and the Sphinx. Ancient Egypt has one of the longest histories of any country in the world as it used to be ruled by pharaohs. The Nile River valley and delta was the home of one of the principal civilizations of the ancient Middle East and was the site of one of the world's earliest urban and literate societies.
